Chiffchaff

Chiffchaff (Phyllosocopus collybita)

This is a summer visitor to Europe, it migrates to the Mediterranean and other milder climates. It feeds on insects which if finds in trees and bushes and it will even catches them in flight. It nests in vegetation on or near the ground laying 4 - 7 eggs which hatch after 13 days.

They are very mobile birds, we used a tripod with the manfrotto gimbal 393 head. This a good alternative to the more expensive gimbal heads. It gives a solid support for large lens and help with fast movement for those flight shots or just the rapid movement of the bird.
